Last night, Mitch Kowalski launched his new book The Great Legal Reformation to a full house of engaged listeners, downtown Toronto. He managed to talk his way through two water bottles and, still, there were lots of questions from the audience!
Here are a few takeaways:
- Mitch walked us through a model for the future law firm. In this depiction, all aspects of the job that don’t need to be handled by legal professionals would either be delegated to non-lawyer employees or automated by technology.
- Given that larger law firms would have more difficulty adopting this model than smaller or newer firms, the vision ultimately spells opportunity for nimble, entrepreneurial lawyers.
So, the question is which lawyers are going to reform the profession?
And when?
