My role is to embolden you to take the steps that bring you closer to your version of success.
Hello! I’m Sandra Bekhor, Practice Management Coach to small to mid-sized professional practices at Bekhor Management. The firm was founded in 2005 to give professionals the ability to realize their visions for their firms.
For decades, lawyers, architects, consultants and other professionals have been confiding their cares and concerns in me, so we could carve out a direction that worked for them. Uniquely. For those following in the footsteps of their mentors. And for those with a mission that seemed unusual, remarkable or out of reach. A way to minimize the risks further down the road, while also leveraging their current circumstances. Our clarifying conversations have helped them to realize the full potential of their firms by identifying the possibilities that were right for them and a path to pursue them, strategically and authentically.
What does that look like?
Firm owners, practice managers, partners and associates know from actual experience that with a position of influence comes tremendous responsibility. The kind that keeps you up at night. But it doesn’t need to be quite so lonely at the top. A practice management coach can serve as a knowledgeable, objective, supportive, sounding board. A guide to help you assess opportunity and navigate change, in real time. Someone to talk to confidentially about the sensitive aspects of practice management that may be difficult to share with others. Leadership development. People management. Quality control. Rainmaking. Client expectations. And so much more.
For decades, I have been tirelessly advocating the power of marketing and management tools in practice development by speaking and writing on the subject, North America wide. And I actively continue this work, today, as the host of ‘Get in the Driver’s Seat’, a podcast focused on stories about leadership moments in small to mid-sized professional practice.
You can shed, at least some of, your onerous concerns by adopting modern, best management and marketing practices that have enabled other small to mid-sized firms to build efficiencies, level the playing field and ultimately meet their own goals.
I once had a coaching client, a young but spectacularly accomplished and innovative entrepreneur, that just didn’t see herself as a leader in her profession. When I asked questions to probe into the root issues holding her back, she shared with me that she didn’t see leaders out there that, in her view, resembled her. I sent her off with homework, to think about a relatable role model. At our next meeting, I asked, “So did you do your homework? Were you able to find a role model that is relatable to you?” She said “Yes”. And “Who was that?” “You.” I was blown away. Beyond that, I realized that my work’s purpose goes beyond the seemingly obvious mission of helping small to mid-sized professional services firms scale strategically. It also includes the need to be out there as a maverick, inspiring others to think that more is possible for themselves.
She’s why I do what I do. You’re why I do what I do. To be the catalyst necessary for those clarifying conversations that embolden you to take the steps that will bring you closer to your version of success.
So, that’s me, by day. By night… when I’m not with family and friends, I am (often!) in my creative space, painting expressive abstracts, practicing yoga and meditation or consuming piles of books… often several at once!
