On January 19th, I will be speaking about law firm retreats at the OBA (Ontario Bar Association) Managing Partner Roundtable Breakfast Series. Here is a short excerpt from the program:
Law firm retreats can be positive experiences for law firms. Lawyers can walk away excited about new opportunities and feel energized about enhanced relationships. Alternatively, retreats can be dreadfully boring, expensive, and forgotten events. How should a firm should go about planning an effective firm retreat and to what end? Learn how to determine when and why a law firm retreat is needed for your firm. Who should organize your firm’s next retreat? And, what should a firm retreat ‘follow up’ involve? This Managing Partner Roundtable session will provide guidance on selecting a suitable format and structure, generating topic ideas for discussion, preparing an agenda, choosing an ideal location, and pros and cons of retaining an outside facilitator.
