Sticktoitiveness is actually a word! I learned of it from Erin Brockovich (the real one, not Julia Roberts and who also, by the way, plays ‘Julia’ in the movie) in her recent interview on The Hour.
Erin told the audience that sticktoitiveness was the mantra her mother used to help her overcome the negativity she faced as a child because of her dyslexia. Years later, she challenged her mother who surprised her by promptly whipping out the definition:
Sticktoitiveness… dogged perseverance; resolute tenacity
It would seem that Erin shares the secret of some of our most successful entrepreneurs.
The single most important distinguishing factor among successful entrepreneurs is, as it happens, their sticktoitiveness!
Successful entrepreneurs stick to their goals despite adversity and naysaying.
Successful entrepreneurs recognize their own shortcomings and turn to others to overcome them.
Successful entrepreneurs resist the pressure to follow trends and maintain the strength to, instead, follow a vision.
