From Sitcom Drama to Work-Life “Aha”

We’ve all been there. What starts out as an innocent exchange leads to conflict that ties us in knots. Against our better judgement, we give in too soon or we push back too hard and brimming with regret, we ask ourselves: “Why did I let that happen… again?”

There is a better way. It begins with replacing self‑doubt with clarity and confidence.

Join an entertaining, interactive and eye‑opening session that shines a bright light on how we can (all!) move away from old patterns that no longer serve us, in our challenging conversations, at work and beyond. We will watch short clips from favourite sitcoms for some laughs at how our TV friends sabotage themselves to entertain us. Then we will open it up to a discussion about how this relates to our real professional and everyday lives.

Who this is for

Business owners and leaders who are successful on the outside but sometimes feel stuck, stressed or frustrated in their relationships with clients, team members, partners or even with family and friends. This is about those difficult conversations where you’ve had to give or receive feedback, manage expectations or handle a customer’s complaint.

If you’re open to learning, laughing and sharing a few “aha” moments together, you’ll fit right in.

How it works (60–90 minutes, online or in person)

  • We will begin with a short, simple overview of 9 common ways we typically get in our own way (Saboteurs)
  • Then we will watch a few short clips and have a chat about what happened and why it feels so familiar
  • We will experience a quick technique to shift out of reactivity, which you can use even when you can’t get a quiet moment to yourself

Real talk, good laughs and shared “oh wow, that’s me” or “I know someone exactly like that” moments.

Before the session: a short Saboteur Assessment (5 minutes)

To make the session more personal and useful, each participant will be invited to complete a brief, free online Saboteur Assessment before we meet. It will give you a simple snapshot of your most common “self‑sabotage” patterns, so the TV clips and discussion land in a way that’s specific to you.

You’ll receive your results instantly, just bring them on your phone or printed. We’ll refer to them during the session.

Optional 1:1 follow‑up for participants

After the session, each participant will also have the option to book a complimentary 30‑minute online Saboteur Debrief with me. We’ll review your assessment results one‑on‑one, connect them to a real situation in your work or life and explore a few practical next steps.
